Week 18 Weigh In

13 May

Today is a BIG day for me! I’ve hit a huge milestone…one that I’ve NEVER hit before on a weight loss journey and one that I’ve been waiting to hit for awhile now!

Week 18 Weigh In:

Updated Stats:

Last Week’s Weigh In: 263.8
This Week’s Weigh In: 261.6
Total Loss This Week: 2.2 lbs
Beginning Weight (1/4/2010): 313.2

Total Loss To Date: 52 lbs

If you didn’t notice the BIG bolded line above that’s why today is such a big day for me! I’ve hit that 50 lb mark….OMG I still can’t believe it! I did this. I really did it.

I’ll totally be writing another blog post sometime today or within the next couple days talking about reaching such a huge milestone!

Having A Bad Day

12 May

Ok so I have to be brutally honest here. I know that holding it in and trying to pretend that everything is ok and that I’m still going full force and doing great isn’t helping. If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the course of the last 5 months is that suppressing my feelings always leads to a binge fest and I do NOT want that!

So…

I’m having a REALLY BAD day. I just want to throw in the towel and give up. I’m feeling really frustrated with my progress right now. And I’m even more frustrated with how much farther I still have to go…even though I’m trying to focus on the positives & how far I’ve come I can’t stop focusing on how far I have to go.

Frankly I’m just tired. I’m tired of eating healthy even though I feel so good doing it. I’m tired of exercising even though I feel great after a good workout. I’m tired of ‘dieting’ even though I’m not dieting because this isn’t about dieting this time around it’s about a lifestyle change.

I’m craving EVERYTHING right now. I want a Big Mac, french fries, a big ole concrete mixer from Culvers (those of you that have never had Culvers Custard…I’m sorry! It’s the bomb!), onion rings, a swiss cake roll, nachos, chicken quesadillas with lots of guacamole and sour cream, cake with lots of frosting, a reeses peanut butter cup…I think you get my drift! When I said I want everything right now I meant everything!

I’ll be meeting some friends at 9pm to workout so I hope that blowing off some steam and taking all my frustration out on the elliptical, treadmill and weight machines will help because I’m NOT in a good place right now!

I Have a Dilemma

11 May

So I have a dilemma on my hands and I don’t know what to do!

My son handed me a permission slip for his end of the year field trip. They are going rafting down a river which is something I just did for the very first time last summer and absolutely LOVED it.

On the permission slip there is a spot that you can volunteer to help chaperon the rafting trip if you would like. The rafts are 5 person rafts and there has to be 1 adult for every raft.

I want to volunteer so bad! It would be so much fun to not only do this with my son but his entire class. What a perfect way to end the school year out!

So here’s where the dilemma comes in…

“Everyone wears life jackets which are provided by Big Bear Adventures

Obviously life jackets are a good thing especially for the kids. But life jackets for big people just don’t work out well. Last summer on a camping trip I couldn’t take my son and my best friend’s daughter in a paddle boat at the place we stayed because I could NOT fit into a life jacket!

Ok well I’m 50 pounds (ok 49.8 lbs) lighter than last summer but let’s face it I have some pretty big ‘girls’ so the dilemma is I don’t know if even now I can fit into a life jacket! I would be totally mortified if we got all the way up there only to find out I couldn’t go because a life jacket wouldn’t fit.

So I didn’t sign my name and my son is really upset and so am I. But that’s really the only option because I just can’t chance the fact that a life jacket still might not fit me :-(

But the permission slip is still sitting on my desk – it doesn’t have to be back to school until tomorrow so there’s still time to change my mind and just take a leap of faith that the ‘girls’ will fit!

Bring It On

11 May

My gym is having a contest starting this Friday May 14th called “Weigh Down Your Summer.” Every week starting this Friday, going until the end of July, you weigh in with a staffed member.

Every week the top losers will be posted on the big white board facing the door as you walk into the gym (and considering I’m an attention whore you better believe I WILL see my name up there at least once :-) …if not more! lol).

At the end of the summer the person with the biggest loss wins 2 free months to the gym.

And guess what folks? I love a good challenge. Oh and did I ever mention how competitive I am? Hmmm…I never mentioned that before? ;-) Well I am so everyone better watch out (yes Angel my Angel this means you too!) because those 2 free months at the gym are going to be MINE! Seriously I want to win those 2 free months so bad!!!

And talk about a big ole boost of motivation!

I Have Turned Into A Gym Rat

10 May

It’s official I have turned into a gym rat. I think about working out 24/7. I hate sweating but at the same time I love it…figure that one out! I love how I feel after a hard core workout session. I even love (gulp) lifting weights!

Here’s me showing a couple awesome peeps how to use one of the machines:

Here’s Me Being An Attention Whore & Bragging About All This Sweat…because I worked my a** off & earned the right to brag :-) And yes that is a towel on my head…don’t ask cause I don’t have a good answer as to why it’s there other than my hair was dripping with sweat & I couldn’t stand it in my eyes any longer! lol

I never knew I’d end up loving the gym/working out so much!
