All Fired Up!

17 Feb

So many changes have been going on over the last 6 weeks since starting my weight loss story! I feel like a completely different woman! And not just because I’m losing weight but because I’m making so many positive changes and focusing on me and changing things on the inside too.

As I’ve mentioned in some of my previous posts this time round on my weight loss journey it’s been all about setting small goals that I can achieve instead of looking at ‘the big picture’ (all the weight I have to lose) like in the past. When I think of this journey in the big picture way and all the weight I have to lose it’s too easy to throw in the towel and give up. But when I break it down and look at in small goals it’s easier to deal with. And celebrating the small accomplishments seem to keep me fired up and raring to go!

Today I had another reason to celebrate. My mom took me out for an early birthday lunch (my b-day is this Saturday - February 20th) and after we went to Wal-Mart. Generally I hate their plus size clothes but I actually found a shirt I really liked. And I was shocked beyond belief when I had to exchange the 22/24 for an 18/20 because the 22/24 was so big on me! I was shocked! I don’t even remember the last time I fit into an 18/20 or even a 22/24 comfortably!

I made a video when I got home. I was so fired up and just wanted to share my excitement with you but it was really cheesy so I deleted it. And then guess what? I ended up making another one that’s just as cheesy!

If you’re wondering what song is playing in the background it’s Pat Benatar’s All Fired Up. This is going to be my ‘theme’ song for awhile because it keeps me motivated, my energy high and it’s just a great song.

Pat Benatar All Fired Up Lyrics

Livin’ with my eyes closed, goin’ day to day
I never knew the difference, I never cared either way
Lookin’ for a reason, searchin’ for a sign
Reaching’ out with both hands, I gotta feel the kick inside

All Fired Up
Now I believe there comes a time
All Fired Up
When everything just falls in line
All Fired Up
We an’ learn from our mistakes
All Fired Up, Fired Up, Fired Up - Hey

Ain’t noboy livin’, in a perfect world
Everybody’s out there, cryin’ to be heard
Now I got a new fire, burnin’ in my eyes
Lightin’ up the darkness, movin’ like a meteorite

All Fired Up
Now I believe there comes a time
All Fired Up
When everything just falls in line
All Fired Up
We live an’ learn from our mistakes
All Fired Up, Fired Up, Fired Up
The deepest cuts are healed by faith
Now I believe there comes a time
When everything just falls in line
We live an’ learn from our mistakes
The deepest cuts are healed by faith

p.s. How about you - are you all fired up?

I’m totally geeked about it. Hopefully it just wasn’t because of that kind of material/make of the shirt that I fit into an 18/20! lol

Tishia, That’s FABULOUS news! Clothing changes are so motivating! Something you can just feel. And besides, new smaller clothes just feel good anyway :) I’m so proud of you. You are attacking this and making it happen!

Hi, just found your blog. You have such a great attitude. After I gained 50 lbs with my first pregnancy, seeing the end of the road was really hard. You are right, breaking it up into small achievable goals is really the best way to see the accomplishments.

Hooray that you are in a smaller size and that you found something new that you like. Isn’t it fun to get yourself something new once in a while?

Hi Karen. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! I can’t believe that all the times I’ve been on this healthy eating/weight loss journey in the past it never dawned on me to break the huuuuuuge amount of weight that I need to lose down into smaller attainable goals! It really makes a difference not focusing on all I have to lose but the fact that this year I want to lose 75lbs. It’s easier to look at 75lbs than 150lbs.
