Six Miles In Two Days

3 Jul

Oh yeah baby! I’ve clocked 6 miles (walking/jogging) in the last 2 days. It’s been a long time since I’ve walked outside and this is the first time I’ve jogged outside. It’s a completely different experience doing it outside and I’ll gladly take my treadmill inside at the gym any day! It’s a lot harder on me walking/jogging outside! My shins are bugging me again (not as bad as they were in the past), my back is sore and I have a huge blister starting on my left foot :-(   Of course this could all be because I was doing it at a super fast pace, way faster than I’m used to on the treadmill! My pace was 3.67 miles per hour! When I’m on the treadmill I only walk at 3.0 – 3.2 miles!

Ok but enough complaining about the pain. I feel great for the most part! And I’m even more excited because my best friend is up for the weekend and just recently started exercising (walking/jogging) about two weeks ago. Yesterday was the first time she’s ever walked 3 miles and even though she was sore this morning she still got up, got out there and did it again! I wish I could walk and exercise with her every day but we live about 3.5 hours away from one another so we can’t!

Anyways, I feel like I’m starting to really get my groove back. Now I’ve just got to 150% completely get back on track with my eating and things will be marvelous :-)

How are your workouts going?

P.S. Have a safe and happy 4th of July weekend!

Inside on the treadmill is a lot easier, that’s for sure. I prefer being outside (one because a treadmill just isn’t an option for me these days, not being able to afford a gym membership and all) but I love the sights, sounds, and smells of the great outdoors…particularly in the early morning. There’s nothing like it! :-)

Momma Sunshine – I do like the sights, sounds & smells of being outside too but dang it’s just so much harder on my shins, knees & feet! lol

Thanks Emily! I wish she lived closer (or I still lived down by her) :-(

Great job! I get so bored on machines, but they serve their purpose on rainy, hot, cold days!
I’ve started taking bootcamp classes 4 days a week and though it’s kicking my ass, it’s addicting. I just keep focusing on becoming stronger and faster and making sure I did better than the last time.

Stacey – It’s funny because so many people are like you (get bored on machines) but not me. I love the treadmill and elliptical, I don’t know why but I just do! lol

Congrats on taking the bootcamp lessons 4 days a week! Sounds like that would be tough!

Way to go! Running outside is a whole different ball of wax LOL I’m actually struggling with it and the training for the 1/2 marathon in Jamaica in Dec. At this point, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to run it due to breathing/cardiac issues when working out on that level. We’ll see, I’m still giving it a go though. Other than that my workouts are awesome, personal training is going really well too.

Angie I can’t believe how different it is running outside versus inside on the treadmill! lol I mean I knew it would be different but it’s a lot harder that’s for sure!

I’m so happy to hear that you’re still going to give the 1/2 marathon in Jamaica a go! Just think of what an accomplishment it will be to do it :-)
