48 Days To A Better Me

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted. I’ve kind of lost my blogging mojo. Of course it’s kind of hard to feel inspired to write on a weight loss / getting healthy blog when you’re struggling with doing even the littlest thing related to healthy living like drinking a glass of water.

My friend Kelly McCausey asked me to jump on board with her this year when she brought the 48 Days to a Better Me ‘challenge’ back. Honestly, at first I wasn’t that thrilled about it. I’ve been doing such a great job of making excuses for the ‘bad’ things I’ve been doing that the mere thought of having to ‘behave’ for 48 days didn’t appeal all that much.

But then I stopped and realized that good grief it’s only 48 days! In the grand scheme of things 48 days is nothing! So, I jumped on board and I’m actually feeling a little bit excited about it!

Kelly and I will be doing a podcast every day over the 48 days! Each day we’ll be interviewing a guest that is working on changing their lifestyles and getting healthy. Listen in as Kelly and I talk about the upcoming 48 Days to a Better Me  ‘challenge’.

Here’s what I’ll be working on over the 48 days (we start on Monday, February 14th):

  1. Using my Wii Fit Plus at least 3 times a week
  2. Drinking 3 cups of water every day using my 64 ounce Subway cup
  3. Eating at least 1 fruit and 1 vegetable every day
  4. Finish reading The Prism Weight Loss Program and start eliminating the ‘whites’ (sugar, white bread, etc).

Those aren’t huge goals but for where I’m at right now these are going to feel like mountains. But, I keep reminding myself that it’s only 48 days (my hope is that I’ll keep moving past the 48 days with these small goals and move onto bigger ones!) and 48 days isn’t a lot to sacrifice.

    I listen to Kelly’s podcast with you and her discussing starting this 48 days to a better me and I love that you are doing this. I felt bad for you describing your struggle, but I know you can do this! I’ve been on Weight Watchers since 2003 and I know that it works and there are highs and lows! So reach out to me anytime!

      Hi LaShanda! Thank you so much for commenting. I just made up my mind about 10 minutes ago – I’m joining Weight Watchers again! The program has always worked for me (as long as I work it obviously!) and I need to go back to it. I love connecting with others that are doing the WW program so I’m glad to hear you’re doing it too 🙂
