I’m Back!

I’m baaaaack! 🙂

Back in my ‘groove’ of wanting to get healthy again!

I keep thinking about a few things that happened on vacation that I was going to write about but never did. It hurts to think about these things but it’s sort of a huge reality check too! The main thing that bothered me was I broke a lawn chair…actually 2! We bought a couple $18 little beach chair things from the Dollar Store and I broke one. It was humiliating trying to get out of that thing. Thankfully there weren’t a lot of people around to see me do it. Then I cracked a plastic hotel one!

But anyways…something inside of me just snapped.

Maybe it had to do with reading a post – Lost in the Shuffle but not for Long – on my friend Al’s blog. It hit home. Especially when I read this (there’s a lot more to it than just this, but this was the jist of it):

… if all you ever do is sabotage your efforts

Whoa Nellie! Yeah, I’m a total self-sabotager! Definitely have to work on stopping this!

But anyways…I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired. I’m tired of the excuses. I’m tired of complaining about the things I once again can’t do – tie my shoes, put socks on without huffing & puffing, fit into my jeans, blah blah blah.

I keep thinking about where I was before…in the same boat. Weighing over 300 lbs, being so out of shape that walking up the steps in my house about killed me. But then I think about how much I used to work out and how I turned into a gym rat. If I could do it back then, I can do it AGAIN.

I keep thinking about the contestants on The Biggest Loser. Some of them weigh a heck of a lot more than I do and they do it. It might take a lot of pushing from Bob and Jillian but they do it.

Those two things just remind me that I can do it again!

And looking at these two pictures just make me want to get back to that place where I enjoyed working out and had fun with it!

It feels good to be back! 🙂

Thank you Teresa. I’m just a big ole dork but I love that about myself. If you can’t have fun working out then what’s the point?

  7. Sure, those contestants on The Biggest Loser get pushed a lot by Bob and Jillian…but at the heart of it all, they are still the ones who have to get out there and do it, pushing or not. And never forget that there are lots of success stories outside of that show, too.

Hang in there. Keep plugging away. You’ll get there. *hugs*

Momma Sunshine – There are definitely tons of success stories all around me. While I like The Biggest Loser and the transformations these people make I like to focus more on ‘reality’ – those around me that don’t have personal trainers working them out 6 hours a day, or a nutritionist/dietitian in the kitchen with them teaching them the good things to eat, etc.
