Weigh In #5: Plus Size Bloggers Tracking Challenge: Bye Bye Booties!

Today is the fifth weigh in of the Plus Size Bloggers Bye Bye Booties 12 week challenge. I haven’t been focusing on the scale a whole lot. In fact, if it wasn’t for this challenge I wouldn’t be weighing at all. I made a promise to myself that I would stop focusing on the numbers on the scale. After all, they are just numbers! They don’t define me. They don’t make me who I am. This is a journey about getting healthy and there are so many things non-scale wise to focus on!

But with that being said, I knew there was going to be a gain this week. I didn’t do a weigh in last week because I went back home (I’m staying with a friend that lives several hours from my house and I didn’t have room to pack my scale to take it back home for a weigh in last Monday) to spend the week with my son.

By the way we had an AWESOME week together…technically it was only 4 nights which wasn’t long enough but I savored every single minute we had together! I’ll never forget when he walked in Monday when his dad dropped him off…the way his face lit up when he saw me, the grin he had was literally ear to ear and he gave me the biggest/longest bear hug ever. That moment was priceless and it of course made me cry!

Oh, back to the point of this post – my weigh in for the Plus Size Bloggers challenge. I ate really bad last week (and I’m struggling a little bit with getting back on track but I’m NOT freaking out over it like I normally would…I’m just taking it one minute at a time, one day at a time!) and I had lots of activities planned (walks, bike rides, Wii Fit Plus games) in my head but we never got around to doing them.

Ok, so here’s my fifth weigh in for the challenge:

Starting Weight for Challenge: 297.8 lbs
Last Week’s Weigh In: 284.8 lbs
This Week’s Weigh In: 289.4 lbs
Total Loss This Week: +4.6 lbs (gained!)

    I had a gain too. But I am really in a good head space today and hoping to build on it. I’m still only having 50% good weeks. So, I seem to cancel out whatever good I do.
    Oh well, new week and I think I’ll get it right this time.
    I’m SO happy you had a wonderful time with your boy.
    I think all the physical activity you’ve added into your life will be your grounding line to get back on track.

      Well, at least I didn’t gain by myself 😉 I had the best time with my kiddo…miss him so much already though 🙁

    Thought I would drop by to see how you were doing and I am so thrilled to see you had some time – some great time with your son. It must have been so good to see one another.

    So happy for you Tishia. Next week the pounds will drop off. They are new pounds so they can be easily ditched. Their grip is not as strong.

    I’m with you about non-weighing. I’m a fan of no more than once a month, but I’m weighing weekly for the sake of my blog only. It’s a challenge to not let those numbers mess with my head!

      Hi Serena! Thanks for commenting 🙂 In the past I was soooo obsessive over the scale and it was awful how I let that ‘rule’ me. This time I made a promise to myself that I would stop focusing so much on the numbers and worry about getting active and having fun with exercise 🙂
